Do your light bulbs also work with Apple HomeKit?

It is currently not possible to control our lamps with Apple's HomeKit. Integration will be possible later via HomeAssistant.

Since the approval and certification of our integration by Apple also takes some time, we cannot yet give a specific date when HomeKit will be available. In the meantime, you can connect your light bulbs to Siri via shortcuts and also use voice control.

Is Klyqa compatible with other smart home systems?

Below you will find out which voice assistants we are compatible with.

We are currently compatible with Alexa , 'OK Google' / Google Assistant App and Siri Shortcuts . Our promise to you:

This will remain the case for all new Klyqa products in the future! We are also already working on ensuring that our products work perfectly with even more solutions. And if this is a burning question for you: Yes, compatibility with Apple Homekit will follow soon.

Do I need a smartphone to control the lights?

Yes, setting up your smart lamps and solutions from Klyqa is always done via our app, which must be installed on your smartphone for the set-up.

You can then control your lights as you please using our app or a voice assistant such as 'Ok Google' , Siri shortcuts or Alexa . If you use a voice assistant, you no longer need your smartphone for the most important functions. But that would almost be a shame - because you are guaranteed to like our app .

In the future, we will also offer wireless light switches, dimmers and controls for our Klyqa lights . And if you do want to use a bridge, keep your eyes open: Klyqa will soon be offering that too.

Can I control smart lights with Alexa, Siri Shortcuts and 'Ok Google'?

Yes, that's possible. Klyqa lamps can be easily controlled using all three common voice assistants such as Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri Shortcuts (and their apps).

Thanks to our integration, it is easy to turn individual light bulbs, groups or entire rooms on and off, dim them or change the color using voice commands. No smartphone required - just your voice.

And if you don't feel like controlling via voice, you can of course also do it in the apps themselves. You can use Google Assistant ('Ok Google'), Alexa and Siri shortcuts to control your Klyqa products, even grouped with products from other smart home brands such as Philips Hue, via app or voice.

Here are the setup instructions:

Does Klyqa only make lamps?

Klyqa is the perfect smart home system that grows with you and your needs.

We are currently launching our three smart lamp seriesKlyqa White ”, “ Klyqa Color ” and “ Klyqa Vintage ”. Our Klyna vacuum robot also helps you keep your home clean in a relaxed and smart way.

But we promise you: There is already a lot more planned and in development. In the future, we will offer a complete Klyqa Smart Home family that includes smart security systems (Smart Home Security) as well as smart helpers that can help you save energy and money (Smart Home Energy Saving). Smart sockets, a bridge, an IP camera and a smart alarm system will soon be available.

Do we need to tell you that all Klyqa products will work perfectly with each other and be compatible with many common systems? Probably not!

Why can't I control products from other manufacturers with my Klyqa app?

Our app was developed specifically for Klyqa products and ensures that you can use all functions and operate them intuitively.

At the same time, we want to ensure the best possible protection and security .

To make this possible, we use our special Klyqa technology. Devices from other manufacturers are not compatible with this.

Of course, you can link your Klyqa products with voice assistants and apps like 'Ok Google' , Siri shortcuts or Alexa - so you can effortlessly control all your smart home devices, regardless of the manufacturer, with your voice.

Why do I need a 2.4 GHz network to connect my light bulb?

The usual standard for smart home devices is a 2.4 GHz connection.

This is because it covers a wider radius than the 5 GHz connection. This makes it ideal for reaching our products even from a distance.

Which smartphone operating systems do you support?

Sure, it's great if Klyqa works on all operating systems and devices.

However, since we still have a lot planned, we are focusing on the most popular operating systems and hope that you will be as modern with your mobile phones as you are with our smart products.

We currently support Google's Android version 8+, Apple's operating systems iOS 11.0+, iPad OS 11.0+ and macOS 11.0+.

What are the requirements for using your products?

In theory, all we need for our light bulb is a socket and a switch.

But that alone would be a shame, because with a smartphone or voice assistant, a whole new world of functions and features opens up to you when you use our app. So link your Klyqa products to your smartphone or voice assistant and immerse yourself in our yellow (and sometimes colorful) world.

You should also make sure that your Wi-Fi has a bandwidth of 2.4 GHz.

Why aren't all certificates for voice assistants displayed on Klyqa?

Good question and a long story. We'll try to keep it brief for example.

Example 1: Our lamps work with 'Ok Google' / Google Assistant. We would like to display the logo for 'Ok Google' or 'Hey Google' on our packaging. But in order to display this on the packaging, we have to apply for the certificate. We can only get this if we display the logo on the front of our packaging. We don't think that's pretty, especially since we have to display a lot of new information on the front since new legal changes. We would rather display it on the side, where there is still a little bit of space. That's the only reason we don't have an 'Ok Google' certificate yet. Unbelievable, right?

Example 2: Amazon Alexa also works with our lamps. However, when we applied for the certificate, there were problems in the system. It took several weeks before we found the reason for this. No wonder, because the error was not in our system. We therefore have to submit a new application. This takes so long that it is not ready in time for the start of sales. So we have to be a little patient until we can use the certificate on the website and packaging.

How can I change my router from 5 GHz to 2.4 GHz?

In contrast to our products, WLAN routers are a science in themselves.

Therefore, it is always advisable to first look at your enclosed instructions or the router manual or to look at the FAQs on the manufacturer's website.

In general, however, we can give you the following tips that you should pay attention to:

  • You can almost always only change your WiFi channel on your PC or laptop, not on the box itself. To do this, go to your router's configuration page on the Internet and log in using the IP address of your device.
  • Most routers today can be switched by changing the channel or by deactivating and activating 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz by checking a box. Make sure that the "Auto" function is turned off.
  • Your router uses a radio channel for each network. It is important to find a channel that is not used or overlapped by other devices. Channels 1 or 5 are often recommended, or alternatively 9 or 13. Especially with a 2.4 GHz connection, many are already used, which is why it is worth trying out several channels.
  • Most routers can create two separate networks, one at 2.4 GHz and one at 5 GHz. If you do this, make sure the SSID has two separate names so you can manually connect to either one.

Are Klyqa lamps compatible with Philips Hue?

We have developed our own Klyqa app for our WiFi light bulbs. You can use this app to manage and control all Klyqa products in one place, now and in the future.

Devices from other manufacturers cannot be connected in the app itself. In other words, you cannot control Philips Hue via our app, nor can you control Klyqa via the Philips Hue app.

However, you can control Philips Hue in a group with Klyqa products if you use Siri shortcuts, Google Assistant or Alexa to control it - whether by voice command or via their apps. The same applies to all other smart home products that offer Siri, Alexa and Google Home integration.

Here are instructions on how to set up Klyqa with Siri Shortcuts, Alexa and Google Assistant (also known as 'Ok / Hey Google' or Google Home):
